Yes, cenote diving in Angelita is an experience that will knock your socks off.
Goosebumps and amazement, that’s what we’re talking about. This isn’t just scuba diving in a cenote, it’s an unforgettable adventure.
Cenote Angelita appears as a hidden pond in the jungle, with a 25-meter diameter surrounded by lush greenery. Unlike other cenotes in Mexico, the water here has a greenish hue, often covered with brown leaves and pollen. Even before entering, you can tell that this cenote dive is different.
What makes Cenote Angelita diving truly unique is the famous hydrogen sulfide cloud at 27 meters. Unlike the halocline effect found in other cenote dives, this dense layer looks like a cotton-like fog from above and takes on an eerie glow from below.
Diving through this mystical cloud feels like stepping into a science fiction world. As you descend, a tiny island appears in the middle of the cloud, making you feel as though you’ve left Earth for another dimension.
The atmosphere is surreal, silent, and otherworldly—a time capsule of nature’s artistry. Experienced divers who take on this cenote dive in Tulum will undoubtedly place Angelita among their top five dives of all time. Will you dare to dive into the Twilight Zone of cenotes?
Location
It is situated south of Tulum, 80 km from Playa del Carmen. It´s the farthest cenote of all. Angelita is held by a welcoming family that lives just nearby the cenote. In a lovely house without walls where you will pay the entrance fees. After preparing your gear, you will need to walk through the jungle for about a minutes from the parking to reach the cenote.
