Cenote Carwash, also known as Aktun Ha, is a charming, medium-sized cenote located along the road to Coba. This underwater wonderland is filled with abundant marine life and offers divers a stunning display of colorful light effects. With a maximum depth of 14 meters, it provides an accessible yet breathtaking cenote diving experience.
Cenote diving in Carwash is a two-part adventure. The first section takes you through the cavern area, where you’ll encounter pristine speleothems and a mesmerizing opening that leads into the vast open-water section. The visibility is exceptional, allowing you to take in the breathtaking underwater landscapes that define this cenote.
The second part of the dive feels like exploring a serene pond, where schools of fish, graceful turtles, and lush aquatic vegetation create a peaceful, dreamlike atmosphere. The scenery resembles a Japanese garden, with vibrant flowers and long, flowing water lilies adding to its picturesque beauty.
Location
It is situated 10 km North of Tulum, on the Coba Highway. It is one of the favorite cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula near Tulum. This unique cenote is great for both swimming and diving and is an easy day trip if you are staying in Tulum.
Bright and intriguing because it is more exposed to the sunlight. It is a place where you can spend a day with your family. At the entrance of the property you will see a small toll where we pay the entrance fees and you will be welcomed by the smiling mayan staff. You will reach the main parking and start your cenote diving adventure. It’s clean and the infrastructure of the park is very good. a small little restaurant is available where you can have fresh snacks and have a delicious Coconut all for yourself!
