One of the most famous and largest cenote in all of Mexico is the Dos Ojos cenote. Dos Ojos, which in Spanish translates to β€œTwo Eyes”, is part of a flooded cave located north of Tulum, on the Caribbean coast, in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico.

Natural light is abundant in this particular area and the visibility underwater is unbelievable. Dos Ojos Cenote diving is an unforgettably gorgeous experience that will surpass all of your expectations.

When you head to the sinkhole caverns, we will show you how to safely descend underwater, view the rock formations, fossils and interact with the incredible light effects surrounding you. Your guide will help you discover the underwater Mayan world in an easy, relaxed dive amongst the beautiful cave formations.

Again, there are two cenotes within Dos Ojos that you can dive in. One is the Bat Cave and the other is the Barbie line. The Bat Cave is darker than the Barbie line, and has a section where there are bats on top of the cave.

The cenotes are comprised of crystal clear blue water and alluring speleothems. When you dive into a cenote, don’t expect to see all too many fish or sea creatures. There are, however, plenty of wildlife in the jungle near the entrance to the cenotes. The open water area is huge and sunbeams pierce the crystal water. Such a peaceful and magical spot.

There is a reason why Dos Ojos is one of the most highly recommended sinkholes in the world to explore. Aside from its breathtaking views, the temperature of the water is at a steady 76-77Β°F (24/25 celcius) year round and is perfect for scuba diving or snorkeling.
