Nicte-Ha (also spelled Nicte Ha or Nichte-Ha) is a shallow, bright cavern dive in the Dos Ojos park: 9 m / 30 ft deep, with light pouring in from everywhere. Brightness here is 5/5, one of the highest of all the cenotes we dive.
The route looks like a Formula 1 track: it winds in and out of many openings, so the light keeps changing around you. On the surface, the water is covered in water lilies, and you see their stems and leaves from below.
Claustrophobia is moderate (3/5). There is no halocline and no hydrogen sulfide, just clear fresh water and some decoration (speleothems 3/5). Each dive lasts 50 to 55 minutes.
Nicte-Ha can be dived all year. We recommend winter (November to March) for the best light.

Location
Nicte-Ha is in the Dos Ojos park, about 45 minutes from Playa del Carmen and 35 minutes from Tulum. We run it from both towns: pickup at 8:00 AM at the Fruit Stand (2nd Street & 25th Avenue) in Playa del Carmen, or at 9:00 AM at the 7-Eleven at the entrance of downtown Tulum.
Entrance fee: 600 MXN for The Pit + Nicte-Ha combo, per diver, paid in cash. Cameras: free of charge.
