CENOTE TAK BE HA
Cenote diving in Tak Be Ha: a cavern lit up like a cathedral.
Open Water · Advanced and 25+ dives preferred
Tak Be Ha (also spelled Taak Bi Ha) is a shallow cavern dive: 7 m / 23 ft deep, and completely under the rock ceiling. What makes it different from every other cenote we dive is the light. Tak Be Ha is the only one with artificial lighting, so the formations are lit for you: stalactites, stalagmites and columns you see in full, not just in the circle of your torch.
That lighting is also why Tak Be Ha is one of the most photographed cenotes on Instagram. Bring your camera: there is no camera fee here.
Even though the whole dive is under the ceiling, it feels roomy (claustrophobia 2/5). There is no halocline and no hydrogen sulfide, just clear fresh water and decoration everywhere you look. Each dive lasts 40 to 50 minutes.
